Abstract: Our lab is building the Pharmacogenomics Knowledgebase (PharmGKB, http://www.pharmgkb.org/) whose mission is to hold all information about how human genetic variation impacts drug-response phenotypes. In this lecture, I will introduce the basic principles of pharmacogenomics, briefly show the PharmGKB, and then discuss some of our work understanding variability in warfarin (an anticoagulant) dose. Finally, I will show how PharmGKB can be used to annotate a complete human genome for the anticipated genetic influence on drug response.
